Grateful for Flowers
I am grateful for the blooming of flowers. It’s now spring and the flowers are flourishing. The parks are vibrant, the air is fragrant, and the land is fertile. The bees are out and so are the butterflies. They dance around the flowers, ensconcing themselves in lush petals. I did not ask for such an idyllic scene, but I am certainly grateful that it is here.
It won’t always be. Beauty too has an expiration date. In a few months or perhaps even next week, the colors will dull, and the air will smell less sweet. But why worry? Just enjoy the flowers. And perhaps the transience of a flower is what makes it truly gorgeous. The bloom is too short to overthink its beauty. Beauty like this doesn’t need to be articulated. Just seen and felt.
I am grateful for the blooming of flowers.
