Grateful for Laughter
I am grateful for laughter, for its sound and the feelings it elicits. I am thankful to hear gaiety and see its physical manifestation, teeth stretched over a smile, cheeks drawn up and brows softened. I am grateful for all laughs, from the quiet giggles to the bellowing guffaws. Most of all, I am thankful to laugh with others and for the laughs with my friends and family. To repeat a common saying, laughter is the best medicine. Laughter is contagious and it carries merriment. I am grateful to laugh through the good times and the bad times. I am grateful to laugh at and with myself; that laughter can seep into the past and the future, healing that which was regretted and that which was desired. Indeed, laughter is the best medicine and also the best peace work, one which I can practice daily. Sharing this peace work is pure and good. It multiplies those very two qualities with every person gifted with laughter.
I am grateful for laughter.
