Grateful for a Sunny Day
I am grateful for a sunny day, for the sun to shine without encumbrance. I am grateful for days with blue skies in which the sun’s yellow and white rays beam down and illuminate the fields of the land and waters of the seas. On days such as this, light and color come alive and seem brighter and more vibrant. On days such as this, the sun’s rays penetrate the earth and warm the land and all its little creatures. I am grateful to feel the rays on my skin, appreciate the fiery orb’s chemistry and its perfect distance to my blue home; that my special blue dot is perfect, at least for harboring me.
Basking in and enjoying the sunshine are the earth’s creatures, the turtles bathing on top of pond rocks, the ducks waddling with their chicks, and so too the humans with their young. The children play in the parks, smiles on their faces and chuckling the way only kids can. The parents too smile, happy that their children are happy, which makes me happy. This day, full of sunshine and vitality, is perfect.
I am grateful for a sunny day.
