Grateful to Not Have a Headache

I am grateful to not have a headache. Like how sickness reminds me of the importance of a healthy body, so too does a headache remind me of a healthy mind. A common adjective to describe a headache is splitting. Indeed, a headache creates pain which feels as if my world is tearing apart and within this torn world contains only the experience of pain and the hope for it to stop. I struggle to think with a headache, and thoughts that do survive amid the hurt reflect the darkness form which they were born. I do not prefer the pain or the pained outlook, and I am grateful for any day with a clear mind.

I am grateful to not have a headache.
